If you can believe it, I just got back to New York this weekend from what is becoming my annual — escape the New York winter by hiding in California for as long as possible — trip. I sometimes wonder what kind of person I’d be if I didn’t have roots in California to mellow me out. California Samah is chill, unbothered, eats a solid geriatric dinner at 5:30pm, and likes to go for leisurely walks outside. New York Samah gets home from the airport at 11:32pm and immediately unpacks all of her mail, suitcases, does laundry, gives herself a manicure, showers, sets up a new coffee machine, and makes a snack all in time to go to bed by 2am. If that gives you an idea of the gear switch…
