Is everyone going through something right now? lol
Is it the moon? Or the stars? Oh, I don’t know, but I just LOVE having something to blame. I don’t know what it is but I feel like so many of my close friends are just…having a bit of a time. Whether it’s in relationships or work, it seems like everyone is trying to get into that flow state of just feeling GOOD, and safe and secure and are teetering on the edge of everything that is just not that.
I guess I always try to have something to blame because it’s easier to say — “well the eclipse is crazy right now, so that must be it!” than just to sit in the fact that well…we cannot POSSIBLY always have a reason for everything. Sometimes, life just IS. It’s up. It’s down. It’s disappointing. It’s exhilarating! It’s frustrating. And the truth is that it wouldn’t be as rich or nourishing or beautiful if we didn’t have the downs, too. Because we just wouldn’t be able to recognize the good parts.
Before The Dish and this cookie recipe that will hopefully change you as it has changed me, I want you to keep a few of these things in mind as we head into the weekend, in case you needed some reminders! You’re doing so great, I hope you know that, and I’m not sure if you hear it enough. So hear it from me! Also hello subscribe to this newsletter and upgrade to the paid version if you want the full experience.
Please stop chasing things and people that are not easily flowing to you. This does NOT mean stop chasing after your goals, or stop being ambitious in what you want to achieve or stop working hard for what you want. No. It means that when you sense resistance from someone else, and it impacts your feelings of self-worth even one iota (whether this be a friend or romantic relationship or whatever) create space and move on. You don’t have time!!!!
Accepting where you are WHILE moving toward where you want to be is crucial. You are making up little parts of the future with every single thing you do in this moment, right here, right now…and now….and now. Be IN it.
You are not going to always get what you want. Because sometimes, you will get something better. Believe it.
The Dish
I am still getting so many compliments on these jeans. Which is hilarious because I have spent way too much money on other pairs of jeans that never elicit this kind of reaction. I’ve shared them before, but since I’ve been getting questions about them more recently I thought I’d share again. I love menswear, I love drowning myself in my clothing, and I bought these in three colors. About to buy a fourth. Linking them here. SO comfy.

I’ve been reeeeally into women’s boxers. I know this is kind of in the same vein as Dish item #1, but they sort of go hand in hand. When you wear a baggy jean, they are the perfect security you need to make sure you are not publicly indecent, lol. I love my Calvin Klein’s of course, but recently also bought these from Skims and they’re sooo comfortable.
Sometimes I am really tired to cook for myself, but still want a nourishing / healthy meal at the end of a long day. I’ve been loving my friend’s brand Paro for this — she makes a kitchari and a masoor dal and it’s so comforting and delicious. Usually I’ll add in some fresh veg when cooking. Yum.
Wanna care about YOU?? Shout out to one of my best friends Carolyn Brown — she’s an incredible integrative nutritionist / MS RD, friend, human, therapist (well, just for me lol, sorry folks) I could go on and on. But I wanted to share that a few times of year she holds a “Week of Wellness” — check out her Instagram here and her wellness group Indigo, here. It involves focusing on cooking meals (she provides recipes), supplement suggestions, with some structure around things to add into your week to feel your BEST. This week she has been hosting one for a small group and I’ve done 3 of them so far. Can’t explain how amazing it makes me feel to focus on ME and what I’m consuming for a week with a group of like-minded people. Check out her page to join me on the next one, I’m sure I’ll be there. Love you C <3
The Cookie Recipe!!
DATE TAHINI CHOCOLATE COCONUT OATMEAL COOKIES, OKAY??
These are Date Tahini Chocolate Coconut Oatmeal Cookies. DTCCOC?? I'm obviously still working on a name but they’re beyond delicious, can be made in one bowl, are vegan and gluten-free and are my go-to hosting cookies. They come together so quickly but feel very bakery style in VERY little time. The tahini is grounding, perfectly complimented by the chocolate and chewy dates.
Hope you enjoy this recipe! Don’t forget to upgrade to a paid subscription if you’d like to experience the full version of this newsletter.
