Dada Dish Vol. 18
things i'm loving and no-bake funfetti brownie truffles
Hi everyone! Today’s letter will be a longgggg overdue Dada Dish (aka a share of the things I’ve been loving over the last couple of months) and a new recipe: No-Bake Funfetti Brownie Truffles! If you’re enjoying the letter I would be honorrreeeedddd if you to subscribed for more below :)

I’m in a bit of a funk at the moment and I KNOW the culprit as of late, has been my phone. I’ve started to really notice how instinctual the impulse is for me when I’m anxious to check my phone, refresh my email inbox, or just mindlessly look at reels - not even while I’m waiting in line or out in the world, but just at home. I was trying to remember when I allotted time for myself to just…THINK. And…well, between music playing when I’m at home and walking around, using my phone for fun and for work, I can’t really think of any (SAD). I have woken up and have decided to reverse my funk by exercising some extreme boundaries with my device. Starting with what I did last night, which was to put my phone in the kitchen an hour before I went to bed AND LEAVE IT THERE. I literally have never slept better…?? I used my HomePod speaker as my alarm clock and I guess the 8 hour hype is real lol. Usually I average around 6!!! NOT ANYMORE.
Anyway, I got back in town from Rome on Tuesday afternoon and I’ve been settling back into NYC - the weather has been WAY too hot this week, so it’s further confirmed to me that it’s truly time for my Super Bowl (no-bake dessert season, duh). I hope you’re taking care of yourself and having a great week - without furtherrrrr here’s the latest dish!

The best denim shorts of all time i’m serious

These shorts from Gap are soooo good. They come with a little denim string belt which I wear sometimes, but also take off if I’m doing more of a nighttime look like what I have in these pics. The thing about these is that they transition so well from day to night and are so comfy, with the perfect amount of baggy, but still fitting. LOVE. I did the medium wash.
I hate bronzer but I love this

I literally have never put bronzer on in my entire life. Maybe I just don’t know how, or maybe I’m just a brown girl and I don’t need to be bronzed too much, lol. Howeverrrrr. I recently tried this Westman Atelier Lit Up stick and it’s sort of like this bronzey highlighter that I am obsesssssed with. It has some pigment so it works well with a blush (this is my daily one) and gives a warm shimmer that’s perfect for summer. I use the shade Brûlée.
it’s worth the hype

My skin has been breaking out a lot recently - both from a PCOS flare and probably just from stress / lack of sleep recently. Ever since I got diagnosed with PCOS in 2019, I have been insanely careful about products I use on my skin - both makeup AND skincare. Caudalie’s The Vinoperfect serum has been a fixture of my routine and it always feels so calming to apply, especially when I’m having a flare. I’ve noticed a big difference in the brightness of my skin, even through breakouts.
use these nearly every morning
I have used many under eye patches and these are my favorite. I’ve been wearing a lot of them recently so I can confirm that they definitely depuff, and they don’t fall off of my eyes like others I’ve tried.
a smaller (and WAYYYYY less expensive) version of the one I love from tiffany’s

if you are not in the market for the iconic Elsa Peretti cuff but still want something that gives the same vibe, I bought this one from madewell for, well, whatever WAY LESS than a fraction of the price is. It actually doesn’t look cheap and pairs well when stacked with any fit.
RECIPE: no-bake funfetti brownie truffles

I am obsessed with these truffles. They are the perfect healthy sweet treat made with simple, minimal ingredients - and happen to be vegan and gluten-free! I like to make them just for fun, or for celebratory occasions too. Since it’s been so hot outside, I can’t even fathom turning my oven on to make dessert - so no-bake desserts it is. This one was requested by my friend Cyrus who I had on as a guest to On The Menu — you can watch the episode here. Hope you enjoy this recipe!!
Ingredients
¼ cup creamy almond butter
⅓ cup pure maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
¼ cup cocoa powder, sifted
¾ cup + 2 tbsp blanched almond flour
⅛ tsp salt
3 tbsp vegan funfetti sprinkles, plus more to your liking
¼ cup mini vegan chocolate chips
½ cup dark chocolate chips
2 tsp coconut oil
Flaky salt for topping
Method
In a medium bowl, mix the almond butter, maple syrup, and vanilla together until smooth. Add the almond flour, sifted cocoa powder, and salt to a small bowl and whisk to incorporate.
Combine the wet and dry ingredients until a sticky dough forms.
Add the funfetti sprinkles, mini chocolate chips and fold to incorporate.
Using 1-2 tbsp of dough, form into truffles. Repeat with remaining dough. Transfer to freezer while you melt the chocolate.
For the chocolate, combine the dark chocolate chips and coconut oil together in a bowl, and microwave for 15 second increments stirring between each interval until smooth and glossy.
Submerge each truffle in the melted chocolate, place back on the sheet, and top with extra sprinkles and flaky salt. Repeat with remaining truffles.
Transfer to freezer to set for one hour.
Enjoy! Stores best in freezer.
I hope you enjoyed this letter! See you next week!!
xx Samah
